I am always painting directly on canvas (no sheme, no preparation with previous drawing in the canvas), looking at the model – or the drawing of the model – and brushing acrylic in instinctive gestures and in big spaces of colours.
Then the light and the shadow, the cold and the warm, the clear and the obscure are meeting together.
And finally the colours mixed appeal me in a way or another… with no willingness to make something similar.

Portraits are almost always done from models. Or imagined from the emotions present at the moment.
I create from nothing, getting the essence of a soul, the aliveness of a face, the expression of a face, the presence of a person.
